Privacy Policy

CouchSlips is built for fun, not data mining. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe. If you have questions, reach out at hello@couchslips.com.

We collect very little. Most usage is anonymous. Specifically:

• Analytics events: Anonymous page views, session starts, and feature usage to help us understand what is working and what is not. No personally identifiable information is attached.
• Generated cards: When you create a CouchSlips card, the content and permalink are stored so the link continues to work when shared. Cards are public by design — anyone with the link can view them.
• Spin counter: We store a lightweight daily spin count in your browser so the free-spin limit works. This never leaves your device.

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep the site running smoothly:

• Session / functionality cookies: Required for basic features like remembering your spin count and display preferences.
• Analytics cookies: Help us see aggregate traffic patterns. These are anonymous and do not track you across the web.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work correctly without them.

We rely on a few trusted services to keep CouchSlips running:

• Analytics providers: To understand site usage in aggregate form.
• Hosting / infrastructure: Our platform provider handles server infrastructure and security.
• Data sources: We may fetch public sports schedules, odds, and injury reports from third-party APIs to populate card content.

These providers only receive the minimum data necessary to perform their function. We do not sell your information to anyone.

We use collected data only to:

• Operate and improve the CouchSlips experience
• Fix bugs and optimize performance
• Prevent abuse or spam
• Generate and serve the fictional bet-slip cards you create

We do not use your data for targeted advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to running the site.

Anonymous analytics data is retained for a limited period to help us understand trends, then deleted or aggregated so it can no longer identify individual sessions.

Generated cards and their permalinks remain available indefinitely unless you request removal or we remove them for abuse. If you want a card taken down, email us the link.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold. Because most CouchSlips usage is anonymous, there is often nothing to delete. If you believe we hold data about you that you would like removed, contact us and we will handle it promptly.

CouchSlips is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Continued use of CouchSlips after changes means you accept the revised policy.
